Autorenporträt
Lionel Childress is the fourth child of the late Rev. Tommie and Marlene Childress II. He is a third-generation preacher, born and raised in Houston, Texas. He had a visitation by God when he was twelve years old, and accepted his call into the gospel ministry at the early age of seventeen after his oldest brother was shot and killed. This changed his life, and following his brother's death he vowed to God to save lives. Shortly after, he joined in matrimony to his beautiful wife, Jeanette Denson Childress, now of forty years. He and his wife have seven lovely birth children, of which one, Shantocqua NaKim, is now in heaven along with their adopted son Schon J. Vaughn. They have several adopted sons and daughters, with children of their own, and Lionel has many God-children also. He has a great heart for God and God's people. He is a Doctor of Divinity, Apostle, and Bishop, as well as a pastor, evangelist, prophet, teacher, and counselor. After college, he founded and established Childress Deliverance Temple Ministries in July 1989, named in honor of his father. He is also the Father and Covering of Childress Covenant International, which now covers over thirty-eight churches across the world. His true belief is nondenominational, meaning that we all make up part of the Body of Christ. No one ministry knows all or has all of who God is. He's been around a long time preaching this gospel. He's not tired yet. His all-time favorite words of encouragement include "Love has no color," "All is well," "The devil is defeated," "Moving forward under an open heaven," and many more. He is known everywhere for his powerful preaching, teaching, old-time singing in his deep bass voice, shouting, dancing, praying, fasting, prophecy, miracles, wisdom, revelations, and most of all, his love. He has had several visions of heaven and hell, and of our Lord and God. When he preaches, he says, "Do you believe it? Say Amen." Then, in the pulpit and at home, and everywhere and anywhere, when he talks to anyone he says, "Glory"-all the time. He truly lives a save and sanctified life for God and is full of the Holy Ghost. Humble in every way, he is continuing to move in the vision God gave him. Though his vision is not perfect, with and by God's Grace upon his life, the vision continues to unfold. Now, as he would say, "Do you believe it? Say Amen. Glory!"
