Autorenporträt
M. Arietta grew up in a small village in the Swiss Alps, a traditionally devout Catholic family. She and her siblings were taught to always be respectful and obedient to their elders. This strict and sheltered environment produced a meek, subservient young woman with idealistic, puritanical views of life and the world. It is quite possible that the suppression of natural developmental instincts planted the seed of curiosity and exploration that she experienced as a young adult. Her first independent life experiences occurred when she became a Laboratory Technician at an AIDS research facility in Zurich. The magic of big-city life spawned a growing interest in languages and other countries.... After many years of the hustle and bustle of the big cities in different countries, the lure of peace and tranquility permeated her thoughts, creating a longing for the beautiful mountains of her homeland. M. Arietta moved back to the serenity of nature in her native Switzerland, where she spends a lot of time in the Alps and works with people.
