Advanced agro-techniques for Bt-cotton: is dealing in addressing major constraints associated with exploring the production potential of Bt-cotton. They are delayed planting, weeds persistence and inadequate nutrition, resulting in development of leaf reddening and reduced rate of growth. Advanced agro-techniques for Bt-cotton: is dealing in addressing major constraints associated with exploring the production potential of Bt-cotton. They are delayed planting, weeds persistence and inadequate nutrition, resulting in development of leaf reddening and reduced rate of growth. From the results of field experiments it is evident that transplanting of location specific Bt-genotypes at 90x90cm or 120 x 90 cm geometry early in the season and compassionate it with integrated nutrition through inorganic, organic manures, green manures, micronutrients and foliar nutrition results in better performance and higher seed cotton yield. The sequential application of pre and post emergent herbicides along with cultural practices reduced the weed menace for longer period. Thus integrated nutrition, weed and insect pests management strategies could aid in expression of enhanced sustainable yield potential in Bt-cotton.
