A Traveler's Guide to the Plants of Mexico, first published in 1962 as Meet Flora Mexicana, has been completely updated and provided with all-new color photographs. This pioneering work remains one of the few non-technical guides to the common plants of Mexico, both native to the country and introduced from elsewhere. The book is unique in that it is ecologically based, that is, plants of the major vegetation zones found in Mexico - for example, desert, thorn forest, tropical rainforest, etc. - are grouped together, narrowing down the large flora of Mexico into something more manageable. This arrangement is useful to the traveler, as once the vegetation zone is identified, the important plants of that zone can be easily determined. More than 300 plants, including trees, shrubs, wildflowers, cacti, and more, are described in non-technical language (and illustrated in full-color), with information on their habitat and cultural uses provided.
