The book fills a gap in sustainable development studies as it draws on a range of case-studies to discuss the challenges and opportunities of using Max-Neef's Human Scale Development (HSD) framework in practice. The book presents the potential of the HSD methodology to analyse complex socio-economic, political and environmental realities, to identify sustainable wellbeing interventions and to engage communities or groups of people in local, bottom-up social transformation processes towards sustainable wellbeing.
