This book concerns the level of awareness of rainwater harvesting among B.Ed. Water is elixir of life according to Sir. C. V. Raman. Scarcity of water has become a common phenomenon due to decrease in rainfall, population growth and reduction in the storage system. The students have to be educated about the importance of developing facilities to store rainwater in various places. Hence, at the B.Ed. level in the curriculum the importance and ways of storing water must be included. They must be involved in the activity of identifying the places where rainwater harvesting can be implemented. The findings of this research reveal that the awareness of rainwater harvesting among B.Ed college students is high. B.Ed. students differ in their awareness of rainwater harvesting based on gender, location, communities and parental qualification. However, they do not differ based on parental education.

Dr. M. MAHENDRAPRABU, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Sivaganga District, India. His research area is on Rainwater Harvesting. He has completed two research projects in AURF and published fifty articles in various international and national journals and books.
