International ergonomic association defines ergonomics or human factors as the scientific discipline concerned with understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance. This is based upon knowledge in designing a job to fit an employee and not forcing the employee to fit the job. Every job has its own requirements and hence the associated work ergonomics is unique dependent on the type of job, the environment and the tools used to do the work.
