Mothoko Ishikawa Motoko was introduced to knitting at age five by her mother. After graduating in graphic design, she worked as a character designer at San-X Co., Ltd. before transitioning to freelance work as a graphic and web designer. In 2007, she discovered Latvian mittens and was immediately drawn to them. She started making mittens in 2011, producing knitted items ever since. The designer creates accessories, with a specialization in pointed-tip mittens of both her original and traditional designs. She expanded her business to include producing how-to manuals on knitting mittens and sock
