The present work is undertaken with a view to harness nanotechnology as one of the most important Frontier sciences for development of pigment printing. Synthesis, characterization and application of ultrafine pigment particles form the base of such development. Synthesis involves miniaturization of pigment nanoparticles under a variety of conditions. Ultrasonic is also employed as a substitute for mechanical disintegration of the pigment using the homogenizer stirring. Three pigments are studied to clarify the impact of nature of the nano-sized pigment particles on size, shape and particle distribution of the pigment
