The question of whether we should teach grammar in our schools or not is not really as important as how grammar itself should be taught. As far the Moroccan context is concerned, the book provides FL teacher and learners with the most recent and modern approaches adopted in teaching grammar. While the claim that the old approaches have failed in achieving this goal is not yet clear. We have tried to come up with a clear comparison between both the old and modern approaches of teaching grammar including their weaknesses and strengths. We really hope that our readers will benefit as much as possible from this humble experience in order to enrich their experience and master the way grammar should be taught. The objective of the book was to investigate the extent to which old and modern approaches can be adopted and used in teaching English as a foreign language in Morocco. In fact we have found that the idea of adopting all the approaches in this context is not as effective as trying to adapt them to the English language learning situations.
