Wheat germplasm reported in this book was collected from a very remote and un-explored area of Pakistan. A total of 28 genotypes were collected along with 14 cultivars. The lines were evaluated on the basis of morphological traits, immune response and molecular characterization. The genotypes exhibited high range of genetic deviation and essential response to rust diseases. Polymorphism for HMW glutenin loci was detected that could be related with collection site of landraces. Since the HMW glutenin subunits indicated higher bread-making quality, hence the variation at these loci is essential…mehr

Since the HMW glutenin subunits indicated higher bread-making quality, hence the variation at these loci is essential for the plant breeders to develop cultivars with improved bread-making quality. The initial information was quite promising and genetic markers must employ to extend the prospect for germplasm utilization.
