Most of the IT (Information Technology) professors in Iran suggest students study the original textbooks. The readability level of translated textbooks can be one of the reasons for this suggestion. The present work was an attempt to compare the readability levels of English IT textbooks and their Persian translations, using the Gunning Fog Index. Additionally, this book includes an introduction to reading and readability, different kinds of texts, factors affecting readability, the effect of readability level of the books for motivating students to read, various readability formulas, and the pros and cons of using readability formulas. This book can be useful for translators, IT professors, IT syllabus designers and IT test developers as well as anyone else who may be interested in readability.
