I loved this book. It was simultaneously challenging and comforting. I wish I'd read it in my early years as a Christian, when I was being fed a heavy diet of 'holiness' classics that left me deflated and pessimistic. But Matt Aroney has created something rare: a call to radical transformation that won't leave you feeling guilty. His emphasis on God's work in us-as the Master Builder of all the rooms of our house-dispels the gloom and points us to the bright light of Jesus Christ, into whose image we are being made. Individual Christians and church small groups would benefit enormously from reading this little gem.-Rev. John Dickson (PhD Ancient History), Jean Kvamme Distinguished Professor of Biblical Studies and Public Christianity at Wheaton College, and host of Undeceptions. Renovated: How God makes us Christlike, explores how God is working in your life. It is difficult to see the presence of God in the complexities of life, and we may be unaware of it, but God is deeply, profoundly moving within us. We are a house, he has a renovation plan, our Father is showing us more of Jesus, so we can mirror Jesus. All of this is the work of his Spirit! It is not about what we do; it is how he is already transforming us, as Paul says in 2 Corinthians. Gain a larger vision of Jesus in your life, and of your life itself, as you learn and think about the "renovating" work of God. About the Author:Matt Aroney is passionate about God's work in the ordinary things of life. An Anglican pastor at South Head Anglican, he, his wife, and three children live in Sydney, Australia. Matt is completing his PhD in Søren Kierkegaard's theology at the University of Aberdeen. He has an MTh from Moore Theological College, Sydney.
