Matthew Hudson-Flege wrote this story several years ago while working as an AmeriCorps member doing a summer reading program for kids, when he wanted to create something to engage young children. Since then, it has been a hit at gatherings with family and friends, who have encouraged him to publish. Now with a young son of his own who is approaching the age of the story's protagonist, he feels the time is right!
