Studies of the destructive phenomenon of corrosion and corrosion protection are of great importance. Corrosion leads to escalated costs, technological delays and structural failures that have remarkable consequences for developments, industries and the environment. Atmospheric corrosion is a serious problem in Karachi, Pakistan, due to air pollution and its vicinity to the coast. The environment of coastal industrial cities is rather harsh compared to developed cities in the main land. This is worse in the case of developing countries. This book provides the first detailed study related to the corrosion protection by using different coatings in marine, industrial and urban areas of Karachi, Pakistan. It also gives the comparison of accelerated (salt spray) and natural exposure testing. This book includes failure analysis of the coatings by using Scanning electron microscopy/Energy dispersive X-ray analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Results of this study should be useful for the corrosion scientists, coating manufacturers and users all over the world.
