Malcolm Macqueen (1878-1960) left his home province of Prince Edward Island, Canada, as a young man to seek his fortune in Winnipeg. He was admitted to the bar in Manitoba and practised law, while also investing in real estate. From all appearances, he made a considerably amount of money, which allowed him to retire at an early age and devote his time to researching the history of the Scottish immigration to Prince Edward Island.
