Malakshmi Borthakur is a contemporary Indian multilingual poet, short story writer and translator. An Assamese by birth and a resident of Lucknow city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India, Malakshmi writes in English, Hindi and her native language, Assamese. She is a Post Graduate in English and Indian Classical (Vocal) Music. She has published many of her poems in reputed journals, E-zines and best-selling anthologies and has garnered huge appreciation worldwide. Her writing brought for her many international and national awards and accolades. Prominent among them are PREMIO MUNDAL A LA EXCELENCIA LITERARIA (World Awards for Literary Excellence) from the Govt. of Peru, South America; SAHITYA SHREE Award from Rubaru Foundation, Lucknow, India and VEERANGANA SAVITRI BAI PHULE NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP AWARD 2022 from Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi, Delhi, India.
