Autorenporträt
Author Malik Canty is a recognized retired Educator of the New York City Dept of Education, who served as a member of the United Federation of Teachers for 40 years. He is an innately passionate spiritual poet who speaks for the voiceless, and is known around the poetry circuit as the "Word Bird." Malik has performed in various venues, including The Apollo Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Shomburg Cultural Center, and as a semi-finalist in the McDonalds Gospelfest. Word Bird writes to reveal the messages in his soul and as a witness of the durability of his people.
