The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replication, having ten treatments. The result of the study indicated that the plants of gladiolus cv. American Beauty treated with different plant growth retardants showed significant effect on growth, flowering and corm production. The minimum plant height was recorded with MH-750 ppm while maximum number of leaves was noted with an application of CCC-500 ppm. With respect to flowering, yield and quality characters, the maximum days required for opening first flower,flowering span ,number of spike per plant, number of spike per plot and hectare,longevity of spike,corms/plant, cormels/plant and vase life of spike were recorded with the application of CCC-1000 ppm. Application of TIBA-500 ppm recorded maximum number of florets per spike , while TIBA-1000 ppm recorded maximum diameter of floret.The plants treated with TIBA-1500 ppm proved to be most effective with respect to maximum fresh weight of spike,length of spike and rachis.
