Tamper evident packaging having an indicator or barrier to entry which, if breached or missing, can reasonably be expected to provide visual or audible evidence to consumer that tampering has occurred. After the Tylenol tragedy more emphasis has been given on control of tampering with different acts and regulation for the packaging. Different technological approaches are discussed in this work used to make product tamper evident. Also the smart packaging technology introduced with color changing polymer, gas sensing dyes, bar coding discussed in the book.With covert and overt technology, tamper evident packaging provides secure against counterfeiting attempts. But to reduce risk of tampering the importance of consumer education and GMP is alsoemphasized in the book. With conclusion at the end, growing packaging demand in future, all pharmaceuticals needs to be tamper evident and of great concern.
