Long ago, further back than anyone can remember, there have been rabbits. Yet in these ancient times far across the vast lands of the desert, there were specifically jackrabbits. However, these creatures were not as we know them today, for they had no ears. Instead, they possessed one miniscule hole on each side of their heads through which they would hear from. This made the jackrabbits a vulnerable desert animal and easy prey for their only and deadliest enemy, the rattle snakes, crested and imprinted with their diamond emblem, which had been a gift to them from the ground. These two species were often at war, each finding the other even more loathsome after every new battle, disagreement, or confrontation. Never was a rabbit and a snake found being kind to each other-and for years upon years, this is the way it had been.
