The scope of my study is to bring to the community awareness the understanding of the youth, the challenges of they face and the role of a Lay Youth Animator in forming the young; and furthermore, propose an action plan for the Lay Youth Animators for the effective Youth Ministry. This study focused only on the Lay Youth Animators, the beneficiaries of Lay Youth Animator in the diocese of Eluru. Youth Ministry, unlike in the past, is more active. The Universal Church and the Local Churches show keen interest in ministering to the Youth. They are facing spiritual, moral and emotional crisis. In this scenario, the accompaniment and guidance in person to the each youngster is the need of the hour and it is the mission of the Church to shape its future by attending the young. One of the ways that the Church can reach out to them and make Her presence felt is through the Catechists who are indigenous. By living with them they "journey with the young towards human maturity by enabling him/her to accept life in its totality, as both gift and duty and live it well." The Church, through the Catechists who are trained in youth animation, can Accompany, Empower, Animate and Love the Youth
