Marilyn Lerch has authored four collections of poetry, including Lambs & Lamas, Ewes & Me (2001), Moon Loves Its Light (2005), Witness & Resist (2008), and The Physics of Allowable Sway (2013). From 2014 to 2018, she served two terms as Sackville, New Brunswick's Poet Laureate. She was president of the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick from 2006 to 2010.
