Author: James Robert Hartland began serving his first church in 1945 while a student at Mount Union College in Ohio. Over the next 41 years, he served churches in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. After retirement, he served as a nursing home and hospital chaplain, pulpit supply and interim pastor, and visiting pastor for various churches. He also served as lead chaplain for Civil Air Patrol well into his eighties. "Pastor Jim" blessed all who knew him with his wisdom, inviting smile, and empathetic nature. He entered into Glory on Sunday morning, February 10, 2013. Compiler: Marilee Hartland Lake was a teacher for thirty-six years. She and her husband Rick have two sons. This is her second book. The first book, Nana's Cookbook: A Celebration of the Life of Helen Jane Croft Hartland, tells the story of her mother. Marilee is active in her church and in the drama/music group LightReaders. Marilee has traveled to Central America on several mission trips. Proceeds from this book support Bradley's House of Hope, a therapy center for handicapped children close to Managua, Nicaragua.
