Martha Ann Endicott Pierce was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, and graduated from Mishawaka High School as salutatorian of her class of 400 graduates. Now living in Arizona, she has two grown children, three grandchildren, and twin great-grandchildren. Her former career was in banking, where she retired from Bank of America as assistant vice president and branch manager. She also served as president of the Soroptimist Club of Mesa, and was included in Who's Who in the West. After retirement, Martha and her husband, Wes, worked in Greece and Israel in hospitality for Educational Opportunities, a Christian travel company. After returning to the U.S. they founded IN-JOY Senior Ministry at the Arizona Community Church in Tempe, Arizona, where they held weekly meetings and lunches, as well as planned and led trips and local events (plays, concerts, museums, mystery trips, and caroling at nursing homes). After eight years, they retired as directors but continued as planners and trip leaders. During the past 22 years, they have led 37 trips and 135 local events. Martha now serves as the assistant director, does the finances, keeps attendance, and processes new members. She is currently on the Board of Directors of AZBAR (Arizona Bank of America Retirees). She plays the piano and likes to read and work puzzles.
