Praise for Mary Jane Nordgren: "Some very beautiful and naturalistic writing...not only do you have strong central characters, but you have also given a real richness and context to small characters." -Kay Snow Award judge Other books by MaryJane Nordgren: EARLY: Logging Tales Too Human to be Fiction QUIET COURAGE Please view: maryjanenordgren.comHinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
MaryJane's parents were courageous enough to have her older sister amid the Great Depression and MaryJane (MJ), as World War II loomed. She remembers being carried into railroad stations to kiss Daddy, a troubleshooter in steel production, and exchange a suitcase of clean clothes for his dirty laundry. A graduate of Tufts University, MaryJane loved teaching 8th graders-sometimes kids, sometimes insightful adults. After her children's father earned his Ph.D., he left. At that time, it was unheard of for a single mother to attend medical school. Yet, she earned her D.O. while raising her three small children, then joined a family practice in Oregon. Forest Grove provided warmth and strength as Kathi, Alisa, and Ted grew up to pursue higher education and careers. She now has seven of the best grandchildren. And then, she met Earl Nordgren. They celebrated their silver anniversary before he passed away after a long illness. MJ creates stories focused on relationships, history, and the laughter in daily life struggles. Her Nandria Series may push people out of their comfort zone. MJ's goal is to encourage readers to realize that every person is worthy of respect.
