The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act-2005 (MGNREGA) is an Indian law that aims to guarantee the 'right to work' and ensure livelihood security in rural areas. Women are essential part of a society. They play vital role in the development of the society as well as the country. Empowerment brings betterment, improvement or tremendous changes in the present position compared to previous position. The scheme is attractive especially for women because it stipulates that one third of the total workers should be women. Hence this study aims at analyzing the women participation on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
