Reliable data are needed concerning the presence of pesticides outside the targets in order to set priorities for actions to remedy and prevent pollution. Therefore, it is very essential to set a residue analysis program of pesticides especially in the urban market of Bangladesh. In this regards, this book will give an idea how to analyze and identify the toxic substances using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GCMS). It also helps to know the market conditions of selling vegetables in the Dhaka city area. The people those are working in a research institution, NGO's or any funding agency, this book will be helpful for them for further research and market analysis.

I am Md. Tazul Islam Chowdhury working as an 'Assistant Professor' at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka. It was my M.Sc dissertation work in the department of Agricultural Chemistry, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. The study was undertaken to determine the presence of chlorinated pesticide residue in some selected vegetables.
