Burnout as a syndrome has gained traction in the last decade and a half due to the serious negative effects it has on doctors, patients and health institutions. We have been at the forefront of pioneering burnout research in Australia and this book serves to provide a glimpse into the epidemic at our shores. The urgency of the situation is greater than ever before and strong interventions are the need of the hour.
