This book explores the impact of stigma towards the mentally ill among college students at a large university in the southeastern United States. The findings indicate the presence of stigma among students, and the early outcomes of a campaign targeted at decreasing stigma. The university was selected for the study due to its heightened level of completed suicide among its students. The concepts of stigma, mental illness, suicide and effective anti-stigma efforts are examined.
