The allegation of a sexual crime against a teenager shakes the Leary family and the surrounding community to the core. High school teacher Sadie Leary faces prison for a relationship with a young student, but did she do the deed? Surrounding Sadie is a family with infractions of its own and a community urgent to convict, regardless of the facts. Raising questions about truth, perspective, sexuality, and the meaning of marriage, The Hallway explores the sun-dappled and jaded world of modern Southern California from multiple perspectives. The voices of victim, perpetrator, lawyer, and those impacted by the crime create a story with many potential truths, many potential victims, and many potential perpetrators. The Hallway ultimately questions how we create our own reality and draws into focus whether we have free choice or if that reality is determined by our past actions.
