This study's primary objective was to investigate the elemental composition and the health implications of geophagic clays in the southern part of Nigeria. The work revealed that concentrations of some elements in the samples may cause adverse effects with continuous consumption and some samples contained acute toxicity concentrations of zinc hence if the clays are eaten, they should be consumed in small doses or avoided and not added to daily diet to avoid accumulation of toxic elements in the body.
