These folk song arrangements were created by students in the MM in Music Education with Kodá ly Emphasis program at Holy Names University for an assignment in Folk Music class. Of the 15 arrangements, five are for two voices (SA), eight are for three voices (seven SSA and 1 SAB) and two are for four voices (SSAA). Several arrangements were made by students studying in the program from foreign countries, and the languages represented include English, Hebrew, Japanese, Spanish, Taiwanese and Ukranian.

Autorenporträt
Michele Winter is a retired school music teacher based in San Francisco. Over the course of her career, she taught violin and viola in public schools in north-eastern England, instrumental music in the Redwood City School District, string orchestra at Hoover Middle School in San Francisco, and orchestra, piano, and A.P. Music Theory at Lowell High School in San Francisco. Michele holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from San Francisco State University and a Master's Degree in the Kodá ly Approach to Music Education from Holy Names University. She has conducted festival orchestras in Northern California and Hawaii and presented sessions at regional, state, and national conferences. Her work has appeared in Strategies for Strings published by MENC, Teaching Music Through Performance published by GIA, Strings Magazine, and the Music Educators Journal. Michele and her husband are long-time members of the Dunsmuir Scottish Dancers, a Bay Area performance team that showcases Scottish social and solo dance forms.
