The complexity of power systems is growing continuously. This is related to the fact that today there is a tendency for interconnection of several power systems and the unification of the electricity market. Achieving these goals requires special equipment called FACTS controllers, which are usually very expensive and in some cases have limited possibilities. In the cycle of presented papers, the authors have developed several original technical solutions for regulation of the active and reactive power flows. The proposed devices have superior properties comparing to existing ones and their cost is much lower, some of which are patented. The most important devices developed and described here are the following: Phase shift adjustment devices, having less power installed than existing ones and providing the same parameters; a frequency converter that is capable to interconnect two asynchronously working electrical power systems direct in alternative current, being an alternative to DC-link installations; etc.
