Adam Durkin lives a life many other children only dream of, filled with family vacations, days spent exploring his family's 11-acre property in Southern Indiana, and enjoying the comforts every child deserves. That is until an unimaginable family tragedy sets off a series of events that land Adam's father in jail and Adam in foster care. There, he meets Micah Sanders, the local newspaper editor and recently sworn Court Appointed Special Advocate. The bond between CASA and his "client" forms quickly as Micah works to find the best possible outcome for Adam. A Fort in the Storm is a story of loss, revenge and redemption, and it celebrates the role of the CASA and the incredible work performed by these "everyday heroes."

Mike Rossetti, and his wife, Pam, lived for seven years in Columbus, Indiana. There he volunteered on the Board of Directors for Advocates for Children, the area's Court Appointed Special Advocate Program, and witnessed the work these volunteers perform.
