Born in Sheldon, Thomas J. Whorley has been a practicing attorney in Sheldon and has served as a volunteer in many nonprofit organizations. He is a member of the Prairie Queen Museum board and the Sheldon Historical Society. Millie E. Vos, an elementary school teacher for many years, is now a member of the Sheldon Historical Society board and the director of the Prairie Queen Museum. She writes a weekly column in the Sheldon Mail Sun about items of historical interest.
