Fruit flies consist of various species in the world. Fruit flies can attack a variety of fruits, especially local fruits in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, many plants that can host this fruit fly. One of them is melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) which is the specific host of Bactrocera mcgregori. This fruit fly does not attack plants other than melinjo. This fruit fly population is affected by parasitoid insects, three species have been found.
