Comparative study of woody species composition were studied in the Protected areas of Yerer ejersa and necho Natural forest in East Shewa Zone, Oromia region with the aims to assess the woody plant diversity, the structure and natural regeneration status of the woody plant. 40 sampling plots were systematically laid to collect vegetation data along line transects at the distance of 200m from each other. Collect height and diameter at breast height (DBH) of woody species with DBH >2.5cm within forty 20m × 20m sample plots and counted number of individuals of seedlings with height 1.5m and DBH…mehr

Collect height and diameter at breast height (DBH) of woody species with DBH >2.5cm within forty 20m × 20m sample plots and counted number of individuals of seedlings with height <1.5m and saplings (height>1.5m and DBH >2.5cm) of each species within fourty4 m × 4m subplots nested within each main plot. Plots of 2mx2m were used for recording seedling. Data analysis was carried out using Shannon Wiener index, past and Sorensen's similarity index. 39 species that belong to 27 families were recorded in the forest. The diversity, evenness and similarity were H'=3.22,J'=0.64 and 82% respectively. The average density and Basal area were 12,654 stems per ha and 3.65m2/ha respectively. However different species showed varies patterns of DBH size structure.
