Conversion of Crude Palm Oil to Palm Oleic acid Based Polyesters were carried out. Firstly, The separation of unsaturated fatty acids (USFAs) from palm fatty acids mixture was carried out by using low-temperature solvent crystallization. Secondly, the optimization of oleic acid (OA) purification from USFAs was carried out using the urea complex fractionation method. The palm oleic acid based polyester was prepared from epoxidized OA as monomer through the polycondensation polymerization at 120 °C with different polymerization times. The synthesized palm oleic acid based polyester showed about 97 % yield. The synthesized palm oleic acid based polyester may be used as a precursor to the plastic industry.
