The interaction between Islam and modernity continues to be an issue of paramount importance in the world, especially after the incident of 9/11 in the U.S. While some Muslim scholars hold the opinion that Islam is compatible with modernity based on certain variables, others deffer and hold the opposite view believing that Islam is incompatible with modernity based on their understanding of the religion.
