Mya Carroll, a native Houstonian, passion for helping others began in 1994 as she volunteered for the Special Olympics. Mya gained experience working with others while mentoring with women and children throughout the Greater Houston area. Mya, also volunteers doing research with children at Severe Behavior Disorders Research Clinic helping children gain control over their behaviors. Her passion to help women and children lead her to Found Phoenix Women's Outreach, Inc. She is also owner of Carroll's Events & Catering, owner of RM Carroll Enterprise, LLC, Entrepreneur, Mentor and Author. Mya is a graduate of University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis and Women's Studies. She's currently in the process of pursuing a Doctorate in Behavioral Science at University of Texas. Mya married her high school sweetheart Richard Carroll in 2000, and she loves parenting their four beautiful children. Mya's goals are to go into private practice to help families in distress. Mya believes everyone can make a difference if they put forth the effort to do so. She believes helping others can make the world a better place. Her motto is "It takes a community to build a community".
