Rural-urban disparity is one of the central problems around the world, and there appears to be a tenacious tendency for this gap to increase over time, with urban people enjoying most of the fruits of any development that takes place. The study described the pattern and trend of rural- urban disparities in different regions (divisions) of Bangladesh within the context of level of urbanization through panel regression analysis and analyzed rural-urban disparities at local level. The research experienced that the patterns of the level of urbanization as well as the rural-urban disparity among the regions are always same. It has also found that the higher is the urbanization, the greater is the rural-urban disparity among the regions and this pattern is repeating over the periods as the pattern of the level of urbanization among the regions is also repeating. Therefore, this research should be helpful for identifying the region (division), which faces severe rural-urban disparities compared to others and which should be given the first priority for planning and development.
