This book deals with the theatrical representations of issues of oppression and resistance among people of diverse social, cultural and religious backgrounds. The female bodies as a site of oppression and as a tool of resisting docility, the denial of one's basic human right to live in a healthy and clean environment and the struggle to end one's life with dignity have been thoroughly explored. The character of Mohamed Atta, a member of Al Qaeda terrorist organization, and the ringleader of the nineteen hijackers in the September 11 attacks has been dealt with from postcolonial perspective. The power of propaganda in implementing different political ideologies and in oppressing people and the Castro regime that had oppressed thousands of Cubans and forced them to flee the country, and their search for utopia as an alternative homeland have been dealt with.
