Holly Erickson lives in Austin, Texas, with her family, but was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She was ten years old when she took her first cooking class and has been in love ever since. In her adult life, her passion has only deepened. Her devotion to hosting parties and gathering friends, her subscription to every food magazine out there, and her short stint as a caterer joined forces to serve as an informal kitchen education. In 2012, she and her friend Natalie bonded over their shared passion for food, and The Modern Proper was born. Natalie Mortimer lives in Vancouver, Washington, with her husband and three kids. Her love for food can be traced directly to her grandmother and the beautiful dishes she brought to the table at every family celebration. After years of soul searching, she found her footing in 2012 when she and her friend Holly launched The Modern Proper. With no formal education in food, but plenty of passion for good meals, Natalie and Holly have together successfully reached the homes of millions from all over the globe.
