Burning for Learning: It is the Student who is Learning, came about as an effort to explore paths of improving learning situations with the cooperation of the student who is in the drivers seat of the learning process. Without student motivation it is a tough, uphill challenge for the teacher to bring them learning. With motivation in place the student hungers for knowledge and skills with the teacher s role as guide towards meaningful learning situations. Interrelation between student and teacher, finding and nurturing motivation, are essential tasks in this interrelationship. The vocational setting in which this book is written is based on education towards mastery of skills and competencies in ecological farming and gardening. The didactical theories explored, and case study implemented, are applied to this arena of learning. The author is convinced that the findings through this work are applicable to other vocations, that the findings are of universal relevance regarding vocational education.
