Autorenporträt
Nadine was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. Her childhood and adolescence were informed by first-hand exposure to the Lebanese Civil war which lasted from 1975 to 1990. Children who are affected by war often suffer Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and or behavioral and psychosomatic symptoms. When left untreated, these mental illnesses can last a lifetime. Being no exception, Nadine was one of these children. Now, a mother of two beautiful teenagers, she navigates the challenge of addressing her mental illness while remaining attentive to her beloved and the affect her condition has on them. Nadine holds a master's degree in Educational Psychology. She conducted in-depth research on the effect that parents who suffer from depression have on their children. This research and her extensive work with refugees, coupled with her personal experience, is the motivation behind this book. It is with passion, authenticity, and a genuine love of all children that she presents, SHE LOVES ME . . . SHE LOVES ME NOT.
