"Cancer is a gift," one doctor told me outside of daddy's hospital room. I did not share that sentiment - at first. WALKING DADDY HOME is a story of real-life drama (and comedy) that happens when a loved-one's time on earth is running out. Information that I wish I had known is shared in this book to help readers through their own real-life journeys in the valley of the shadow of death. But much more than that, it is the story of unexpected and amazing joys and undeniable peace that occur during what seems to be the darkest moments of someone's dying days. Join me as I share with you the amazing gifts I discovered while "walking daddy home." Nancy Sonnema, a cancer survivor herself, has experienced the sadness, pain and loss - and Grace--that accompany that illness. She loves the opportunity to share with others how to deal with some of the things that no one teaches you going through cancer (and life), and to see the profound joys around us that can be easily missed if you are not looking. A sales director for 32 years, a church relationships director for 3 years, and currently owning a Design/Remodel business, Nancy has a passion for walking alongside of people and sharing the gentle joy and love of Jesus with them through everyday life experiences. She is a mother of three amazing children: Russell, Jeffrey and Jillian, and the grandmother of six precious grandsons: Ethan, Benjamin, Brendan, Seth, Joshua and Adam. Nancy and Steve, her husband of 40 years, currently live in Grandville, Michigan.
