The present study seeks to develop an empirically relevant model of the role of movies in enhancing life skills. A new model of influence of film is advanced from a developmental-interactionist perspective, labelling film as containing channels of comprehension (cognitive) and empathy (emotional,) with an integrative attitude dimension.
