Nutrients enrichment especially Phosphorus, have been identified as the major cause of eutrophication and several studies show that aquatic primary productivity is frequently limited by the availability of nutrients. The ability to identify nutrient, physical and chemical factors affecting fresh water health is therefore of a considerable importance to our understanding of the ecology of aquatic fish for fish management. Unpredictable fluctuations in the physical and chemical characteristics of lakes e.g. temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and conductivity have been shown to affect the richness and structure of lake fish. Information generated from the study herein contribute immensely to the effective decision-making and management of the small lakes' resources to meet human developmental needs.
