Aim of present work was to Design and Characterization of Microsponge Loaded Controlled Release Topical Gel of Mometasone FuroateExperimental work:In present study Mometasone Furoate microsponge preparation was prepared by Quasi emulsion solvent diffusion technique using Ethyl cellulose, Eudragit RS100, Eudragit S100 in different conc. Drug- excipient compatibility studies were performed by FTIR. The prelimirily batches of microsponges were evaluated for particle size, % practical yield, % loading efficiency and for drug release.There was no interaction found between drug and excipients. On the basis of various characterization batch F17 was selected for the topical gel formulation.DSC study showed the melting behaviour of drug present into microsponge.SEM studies showed that optimized microsponge was uniformly spherical and porous in nature.The drug release from optimized microsponge formulation follows zero order release kinetic. The microsponge loaded gel formulation release the drug in controlled manner for 8 hrs. The stability data showed that there was is no physical chemical instability of microsponges loaded gel.
